The notion that all famous golf courses are only located in Luzon is very wrong. If you go down to The Queen City of the South, you will find yourself some nice golf courses that will make your vacation worthwhile. One of them is Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.
It is a small yet difficult course characterized with mountainous humps around the area. The course also has narrow fairways and rolling terrain. When golfing from the high parts of the course, you will be mesmerized with the view of the Mactan Island, the far sight of the nearby Bohol, and the bay near the course.
What makes the golfing here a lot harder are the occasional strong winds and the water hazards scattered in the area. You will be amazed with the stunning greenery around the area of the course. The clubhouse lot alone covers a huge 14000 square meters. Future developments have already been planned including a residential space inside their 400-hectare land.
Aside from the golfing experience, Alta Vista also has facilities including children’s playground, a function room, bars, lounge, a restaurant, changing rooms, pro shop, tee houses, putting greens, and a driving range. They also have a basketball and a tennis court for those who want to play on their past time.
Alta Vista is just an hour away from the airport by taxi and is less than 9 miles away from the downtown area of Cebu. If you are coming from Manila, Cebu is just an hour away by airplane. If you are coming from abroad, flights going to Cebu are already available to be booked without going to Manila.
Even though Alta Vista is a private golf club, non-members can play and be considered as guests as long as they set prior appointments with the club’s concierge.
